Boss Introduces GT-6B Bass Effects Processor

January 19, 2002

BOSS has announced the GT-6B Bass Effects Processor, the first new BOSS
bass multi-effects processor in over five years. The floor-based GT-6B offers
new COSM Bass Amp Modeling--with modeled compression--and a host of
other must-have effects, including modeled overdrive/distortion, modeled wah
and touch wah, octave, delay and more. The GT-6B also offers XLR and digital
outputs for recording.

The GT-6B sports 24-bit converters and has a true analog bypass to allow
bass players to switch back and forth between the GT-6B's effects and their
pure bass sound. The GT-6B's balanced XLR output and coaxial digital output
give it a clear edge over other bass multi-effects.

The GT-6B takes advantage of proprietary COSM modeling to deliver the sounds of some of the greatest bass amps ever made. These
models include "Concert 810," "Session," "T.E.," "Bass 360," "B Man" and "Flip Top." But that's not all. The GT-6B can also model
speaker cabinets--8x10, 4x10, 2x15 and more--so players can get a great tone even when going direct. COSM is also employed for
Overdrive/Distortion Modeling and Wah Modeling. New COSM compression, based on three very popular types of compressors, lets
GT-6B users add just the right amount of punch.

Of course, the GT-6B also contains lots of BOSS effects, including chorus, reverb, delay, flanger and more--all optimized for bass. An
Auto Slap feature automatically creates slap patterns from preset and user templates. There's also sound-on-sound looping for
creating loops on the fly. Incredible synth bass sounds with killer tracking round out the impressive effects package.

Using the GT-6B is a blast, thanks to familiar analog-style knobs and its built-in Expression and Control pedals. Taken together, these
features make the GT-6B the most powerful bass multi-effects processor ever.
